Family programs help immigrant/refugee parents to form new friendships in Canada, learn together and heal each other. Programs range from prenatal nutrition, prenatal tour, parenting for infants, children and adolescents, car seat loan and women's support group.
Food For Thought is a pre- and post-natal nutrition program for immigrant pregnant women and pregnant women with student visa.
Prenatal Hospital Tour an information session with a guided tour of the maternity unit at the
Car Seat Rentals is a car seat rental program for program participants.
Parent Talk is a support group for first time immigrant moms with babies under 9 months of age.
Nobody’s Perfect a parenting program for immigrant parents with children under 6 years of age.
Cross-Cultural Parenting a program for immigrant parents who have children of elementary and high school age.
Women’s Support Group meets to provide support, share experiences, gain new friends.
For Men Only is a program designed for immigrant men focusing on educational topics as well as cooking classes. The last 4 weeks will consist of recreational activities led by HOST volunteers.
Youth programs help refugee and immigrant youth with their school work, provide opportunities for recreation and social interaction with each other and non-immigrant youth, and special programs for high risk youth. The summer program helps youth increase language skills, decrease loneliness and isolation and bridges the gap between school terms.
