VOLUNTEER WITH US

Volunteers are a vital part of the Saskatoon Open Door. Not only do they provide valuable assistance to staff, they provide a link to the community for newcomers.

Saskatoon Open Door volunteers are dedicated, tireless and compassionate. Through their efforts and time, the settlement experience of most newcomers to Saskatoon is made smoother and less difficult.

Volunteers provide informal language assistance, and an introduction to the community and culture. They answer questions, share ideas and give encouragement. Most importantly, volunteers become lifelong role models!

Volunteer opportunities are available for the following programs:

If you are interested in volunteering with the Saskatoon Open Door Society you must first attend a volunteer information session. Volunteer Application packages will be provided at the session. Depending on the volunteer placement, further training may be provided.

The next general volunteer information sessions for 2012 will be held:

Wednesday January 25th, 2012

All sessions begin at 7 p.m. and are held at the Saskatoon Open Door Society, 247 First Ave. N. Program specific training sessions will be announced at each information session. Registration is required. To register, please contact Jan jcunningham@sods.sk.ca or 653-4464 ext. 115.
