This program is for immigrant parents with school age children. Cross Cultural Parenting assists parents with the challenges of acculturation, helps parents to access resources and enables them to maintain functional parental roles. This is achieved by guiding parents and enabling them to have an awareness of the Canadian lifestyle and education system so they can help their children overcome struggles they may encounter. This program also assists in improving parents’ spoken English through interactive work sessions. It is organized twice a year in the winter and fall and any newcomer to Canada with Permanent Residency is eligible.

The next Cross Cultural Parenting program runs from April 11th to June 13th, 2012, on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30pm. It is held at W.P. Bate Community Scool (2515-18th St West).

Registration is required before April 5th, 2012.
