After more than a year of planning, designing, consulting and building, the good Earth Family Garden has a new shed!

The Good Earth Family Garden is one of two community gardens maintained by the Saskatoon Open Door Society. The gardens are open to residents of the Pleasant Hill and Meadowgreen neighborhoods and the majority of the gardeners are newcomers to Canada.

The shed was the initiative of local contractors and architects who approached Open Door more some 15 months ago. That groups consists of Amber Guenther (ATCO Structures & Logistics),  Bobby Hill (Brxton Construction LP), George Karas  (Expocrete), Sasha Kisin  (Saskatchewan Masonry Institute), Mark Sin and Robyn Robertson (ETTA Design Office Inc.).  Donations were from Julie Gilbertson and Saskatoon Co-op: $1000 gift card for lumber and hardware;  Timberstone for ALLURA, fibre cement board siding and trims and Kurt Harriman and Adrian Moore of RoofMart: asphalt shingles. There were a few extra hands involved including various community gardeners, neighbours and volunteers from the Open Door (Thank you Brian, Grant, Dan, Lisa and Doreen!)
