WEconnect (Bridging Workers & Employers) held a job fair on Jan 10, 2013 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Saskatoon.

WEconnect was a multi-sector event open to the general public presented with a high quality trade-show approach bringing together a wide range of organizations from various fields and sectors, immigrants, skilled professionals and students. It was attended by 30 exhibitors and 1200 + job seekers. This event was a huge success! In particular, we were delighted to see job seekers, employers and members of other community services engaged together discussing various career prospects.

Since the event, we have received many positive comments from the participants at the Fair. Many attendees also expressed appreciation for the time exhibitors spent answering questions and addressing their concerns. Based on the feedback received from the exhibitors, 97% of them strongly agreed that the event was well organized; the quality, quantity and job readiness of the applicants was excellent. All the exhibitors found the experience to be both useful and informative for their organizations. So far, we have received confirmations from various employers and cumulatively more than 300 jobs were filled in various capacities with different exhibitors.

Thank you to all the participants and exhibitors! We are excited to be involved and are looking forward to planning the next job fair.
