Saskatoon Open Door Society in partnership with the Saskatchewan Intercultural Association assists skilled immigrants to prepare for employment in the Canadian workplace, in fields related to the training and work experience obtained prior to arriving in Canada. Participants receive 15 weeks of in-classroom training, a needs assessment to development an action plan and support to find a work placement. Participants are also paired with a mentor within their professional field. Participants obtain assistance to:

  • Increase confidence in English skills and the ability to work in a Canadian workplace setting; 
  • Experience Canadian workplace culture and procedures and obtain Canadian work experience in a related field;
  • Develop a mentoring relationship to gain support and career insights into the chosen professional
  • Build occupational networks;
  • Increase understanding of the local labour market.

YOU ARE ELIGIBLE IF YOU
1. Have a degree, diploma, certificate gained outside of Canada
2. Have been in Canada for 5 years or less
3. Are legally entitled to work in Canada
4. Have a CLB language level between 5 – 8
5. Are highly motivated to find employment in your field

To register, participants must attend an Information Session. The next Information Sessions will be held:
