Saskatoon Open Door Society News


Our Skills-4-Work program assists newcomers who have good English levels to gain the skills required to excel in customer service and office administrative jobs. In addition, this program builds participants’ knowledge and awareness about Canadian culture and workplace expectations. Eight weeks of classroom training are followed by eight weeks of job search support and coaching based on their specific skills and needs. Three Skills-4-Work sessions are offered per year and the next session begins on May 7, 2013.

Participants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Must be a permanent resident 
  • Must speak, read and write at CLB Level 4+ 
  • Motivated to find employment in a customer service or office environment 
  • Have formal education or training 
  • Have some work experience 
  • Available to attend class 3 days/week for 8 weeks 
There will be three registration/information sessions: 
  • Wednesday April 24th, 2013 @ 3:00pm
  • Thursday April 25th, 2013 @ 10:00am
  • Tuesday April 30th, 2013 @ 5:00pm

All sessions will take place at Saskatoon Open Door Society, 100-129 3rd Avenue North, S7K 2H4.
